Project Dashboards

Initial Considerations

Project Dashboards provide the capability to build webpages from the content in your project. It is a webpage generating tool which is found in the Applications Section of your project. A user must have Project Design & Setup privileges to see Project Dashboards in their left navigation pane.

Each Project Dashboard has settings to allow which users can see that specific Dashboard. One does not need Project Design & Setup to view a Dashboard

  • Each Project Dashboard has settings where it can be designated to be public (anyone can view if given the link)

  1. Use of Public Dashboard must be approved by a REDCap Administrator for each project

  2. REDCap projects must also be moved to production for public dashboards to be approved

  • Project dashboards can be saved as PDF or sometimes downloaded as separate CSV file

    • A public dashboard can’t be found by searching Google. A unique link must be provided

Most often the Project Dashboards are comprised of narrative text along with graphs and charts which are generated by mathematical functions using smart variables to create aggregate functions, charts and tables to summarize the data in your project.

The Project Dashboar pulls data from the project. These project dashboards are dynamic webpages which update as your project data grows. You can compile the syntax for the smart variable equations or use the built-in Wizard tool to create robust dashboards like those shown below:

NOTE: What is possible on Project Dashboards is dependent upon project setup and structure (structure of instruments and field types being used). The below Project Dashboard is a centralized portal of the data for a project using Data Access Groups (DAGs) for a multi-site research project
